Your first visit includes a short health history and discussion about your goals for treatment. Your Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) will explain the treatment plan and ensure you are comfortable before beginning.
You should undress only to your comfort level. Most clients remove clothing from the area being treated, but you will always be properly draped with sheets during the massage. We are trained to treat skin to skin and through clothing.
Massage should never feel unbearable. Some techniques, such as deep tissue work, may cause mild discomfort, but your therapist will always work within your comfort level. Communication during treatment is encouraged. It's easier to adjust pressure when you feel it's too much or too little during the massage.
This depends on your goals. Some people benefit from weekly or bi-weekly treatments for injury or chronic pain, while others schedule monthly maintenance massages for stress relief and muscle health.

In most cases a referral is required, some extended health insurance plans may request one for reimbursement. To find out, it is suggested you look up your insurance before you book. There have been cases when we attempt to direct bill, we get a rejection due to lack of dr referral.
Many extended health benefit plans cover treatment with a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). You will receive a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance provider. We can direct bill List here we do suggest to bring money in case a rejection, partial approval or in some cases the message from the insurance is they want you to pay up front and submit it yourself.
Some mild soreness can occur, especially after deeper work or if muscles were very tight. Drinking water, gentle stretching, and applying heat can help reduce post-treatment soreness.
Yes, but it is completely up to you. Some people like to chat, while others prefer quiet relaxation. Your therapist will follow your preference.
